How To Use Stillman's Cream

My meeting with Zoe Felix and Nicolas Mercier!

After exchanging a few emails with Nicolas Mercier , appointment is made for Saturday 25 with Zoe Felix . I'll be able to meet the actress who plays Clara , a real joy! The "D" day, it is with some anxiety that I head to the venue, but fortunately for me, once I got that nervousness gradually leave (the kisses of Zoe they have virtues soothing?). After a few minutes, the charming and the author of commedian Clara Sheller , Both smiling and relaxed, ready to answer all my questions, many for it! Obviously I did not want to ask the questions that come up constantly in magazines, so I tried to be as original as possible, hoping to satisfy the curiosity of all. Happy reading!
What have you played during the tests?
A scene that takes place in JP. I exercise with a bar in his apartment and JPou comes to me and turn his house because that it is with a guy and I'll say "Oh that's good do not your minx, I've seen you sleeping with guys when we lived together" [...] there was another y'en or as we were in a mobile phone shop and ask him why he did so much fuss during the night.

During this testing phase, you felt you confident? Or were you afraid of not getting this role knowing that the competition was tough enough?
Yes it's true, several actresses, some more known, refused the role of Clara and at the same time many girls who have spent the were cast too young and did not pass. It was a real thirty ... I took it lightly, I had never done television, or measured the impact that a role for a series could have. But I am glad that this has been!

knew you some of your partners before Clara Sheller ?
I knew Patrick Mille since we had done a magnificent film together called The embedded, and of course I had noticed in her role Brazilian Chico [ad for a mobile operator]. When Francis, I had already crossed because we had a common project that never happened. We had lunch both. I do not know more than that but it was nice to be back. And I do not know anyone else.

How did you prepare for your role? Do you read? Do particular things?
Not at all, I did it instinctively. I hitched to work more on technique, as there was a lot of work and I knew it was fast on TV, I learned a lot my text input. I already knew a month and a half of text in advance. I think I felt well enough and understood the character immediately, I searched our commonalities points ... And then with the director it was a lot of repetition, a lot of rereading with Nicolas [Mercier] ... We even made some changes of text, small adjustments to make it better told in the mouth.

What are the differences between shooting film and TV? Did you have negative perceptions on TV?
course I had preconceptions about the TV, and I still when I see all that is done today, it's not always match. What annoys me is that we say that the broadcasts are available to meet the demands of téléspecteurs then that at the end they only look at what that 'they are offered and c is often far beyond their expectations! With Clara Sheller , I found an exceptional project, away from the TV formatted as is accustomed, for once there is no cop, judge or lawyer ... alone why Clara Sheller out of the ordinary. What was being proposed was better than film in that it had never proposed such a role. Compared to the technical side that changes is the rhythm in cinema is turned two minutes per day, while useful for a TV series is eight minutes. But ultimately it serves much the players is more difficult for technicians because that it must change the plan without stopping. What is good for us, the actors, but also the fact that one is still on the shelf so that at cine is expected in our trailers between takes and it can take one, two hours after ... and when we come back we must again get back into the atmosphere. For Clara I was just doing my makeup connections, I changed and we were shooting! So we feel much more invested in the history of film. We're all together and stretched towards the same goal, it's a great team, it's very motivating.

What is it like filming on Clara Sheller ?
I am much amused, I became very naughty to the end of filming. There was an atmosphere "funny "On the shelf. It is difficult to speak of a day's shoot type, since we turned things completely different every day. They began early, were big days, that you do not feel without it! Turn to the TV keeps us in a kind of energy constantly. We were good, everything was happy, all we loved each other very much, I know it's a little consensual to say this, that all actors are saying but here for once it's really true! So busy days in the right mood, even if there were but more serious moments as they passed from laughter to tears without stopping it was never heavy and cumbersome.

It was not difficult to leave Clara?
Not because it's part of acting, it's very technical. On camera it shows the emotions and after being cut. Obviously it is sad to leave but at the same time, we're glad to have completed a job successfully. And then Clara is the game I think, of course it takes very seriously and work well not always, after the merger is to lose concentration. Sometimes I well sing, laugh ... In fact the first scene that I had to run with Patrick and Francis, was a difficult scene because we had to play all three, sitting down and trying to laugh. This was our first day of shooting, we did not know well, was asked if it was possible to drink a little champagne to relax [laughs].

Which scene was the hardest to put in a box? To rotate the coolest?
I waited for weeks at a scene or Clara would start crying in the elevator. I was afraid, because usually scenes or Clara cries are brought, the emotion at the time we win, but then I was crying all at once like that. I watched this scene the day arrived, it was towards the end of filming elsewhere and then it went well. For the "cool" I can not tell you, I have a total memory of the shooting, there were so many scenes. I liked the scene with Rita Mitsouko , that much has been worked upstream since it reminds me of some moments of everyday life, when everyone laughs around self, while on our side, we are in our bubble, a bit melancholy, watching all this from afar. Sometimes I'm comfortable in melancholy, is what draws us.

Qu ' you waiting in the third season?
laughing gas [laughs]. What is what it has not done our Clara? I think that we follow so his age, that 'they are things that will naturally put in place. Now, I'm the new responsibilities that will be imposed on my character.

Nicolas for you Clara Sheller is it exportable?
The advantage is that 'with Clara Sheller , we found a very French heroine, she takes the lead as only a French can. Americans, if we take Sex and The city for example, do not operate the same way, they do not reason like that. They tend to classify everything in France is more permeable, more things are mixed. Clara is a little full of women at the same time, she breaks down and I think it's a very French particularity. And then it has the charm of France, with Paris. Besides the first season that made me think of the famous photo of Doisneau, lovers in front of City Hall.

For Season 3 can we expect more six episodes?
[Laughs] No, there will be six, I feel that eight is enough. Already six is huge, and I wonder how I get there again on my own.

Many thanks to Zoe and Nicolas for this interview!
