Noise Makers For Cheerleading Competition

institutional savings worldwide

This graph, taken FT, shows the distribution of institutional savings in the world. As you can see it is dominated, apart roughly comparable (around USD 21-23 trillion) by the Pension funds, Mutual funds (including major French bank asset managers) and the Underwriters (the first Global AXA).

The Sovereign Funds and hedge funds, "actors amounts" of the 2000s, remain far behind, even if they weigh on markets proportionately more than their assets under management because i) they are more mobile and active, and, ii) use of leverage which increases their clout.

We could add to this chart, and even in this last category, the private equity funds, which manage around a trillion dollars.
